This Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva DOCG 2001 from the Torcalvano line by Folonari is a red wine presented in a wooden case. The Riserva designation and vintage suggest a wine that has reached maturity: the bottle shows a calm, complex profile and invites a measured approach, without going into technical details about ageing. The wooden case also makes it a fitting choice for those seeking a bottle to cellar or give as a gift.

In the glass it appears balanced, with integrated tannins; the aromatic intensity leans toward evolved notes and moderate persistence. On the palate it offers body and roundness appropriate to its age, with hints of ripe fruit and discreet tertiary nuances. It pairs well with structured dishes and aged cheeses; for best enjoyment serve at about 16–18 °C and store in a cool, stable place away from light and heat sources.

Winery history
The Folonari family has deep roots in the Brescia area and has been involved in wine production since the late 18th century. At the end of the 19th century the headquarters were moved to Brescia, and in the early 20th century the family acquired the historic Ruffino winery. In the 1960s Nino Folonari began a shift toward quality with the acquisition of estates in Chianti. In 2000 Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari established Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, which brings together several estates in Tuscany, while the Folonari brand offers an extensive range of table wines and appellation wines.
Production philosophy
Enhance the production areas, combine tradition and innovation, and focus on grape quality to produce wines that are distinctive and closely tied to their territory; the company's plan includes investments in the estates and attention to the diversity of terroirs.
Terroir and vineyards
Headquarters and estates are mainly in Tuscany, with production and a presence also in north-eastern regions such as Veneto and in areas like the Collio; the company’s history begins in the Bresciano and includes references to territories around Lake Garda and beyond.
Awards and recognitions
The "Vinitaly Territory Ambassador" award was presented to Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute.
