Lo Speziale is a unique wine, which is produced almost exclusively in the municipality of Verduno, from the rare native Pelaverga Piccolo grape variety. This wine is an authentic oenological marvel that stands out from the first glance and fascinates with its unmistakable sensorial profile, characterized by a particular spicy note, especially pepper.

A vivid, bright ruby red color anticipates a promising sensory experience. On the nose, the Speziale reveals a rich bouquet of flowers, spices and small berries. In the mouth, it is light, fresh and lively, with a delicate and smooth touch of tannin which makes it perfectly balanced.

The Speziale is a versatile companion at the table: it goes well with meat and cold cuts dishes, risottos, focaccia and calzones but also in combination with egg-based dishes and savory pies.

Historic Verduno winery operating since 1830. Estate-owned vineyards spread across the crus of Verduno and Monforte. Vinifies exclusively estate-grown grapes, with a strong focus on indigenous grape varieties. The range includes several Barolo, Verduno Pelaverga "Speziale", Barbera d'Alba and Dolcetto d'Alba. Family-run operation with a long local tradition.
Winery history
Family-run for generations, the winery has been in Verduno since the early 19th century. The main building is an 18th-century house adjacent to the historic centre; the family has continued winemaking, maintaining a family-sized operation and management, and preserving the local tradition of producing and bottling wines of the Langhe.
Production philosophy
The winery prioritizes its connection to the territory: it focuses primarily on native grape varieties, produces wine exclusively from estate-grown grapes, and maintains an approach that combines respect for traditional practices, artisanal care, and attention to oenological and agronomic innovations.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the crus of Verduno and Monforte d'Alba. The area's microclimate and the calcareous soils of the Langhe hills shape the character and elegance of the wines, particularly the Nebbiolo/Barolo of Verduno.
Awards and recognitions
Several of the winery's wines have received awards.
