The Pinot Nero Alto Adige DOC 'Auswhal' by Josef Weger shows an elegant, restrained profile typical of Pinot from alpine areas. Bright ruby in color, it offers aromas of red berries — cherry, raspberry — accompanied by floral hints and a gentle spice. The palate is smooth, with fine tannins and fresh acidity that balance the fruit component, resulting in a harmonious and refined impression. The aromatic frame also includes subtle earthy hints and a mineral streak that enhances olfactory precision, while the structure remains essential yet well defined.

It pairs well with white meats, delicate cured meats, mushrooms and semi‑firm cheeses; it is also suitable for regional dishes and lighter preparations with tomato-based sauces that are not overly robust. Serve at about 16-18 °C in large glasses; a short period of aeration in a carafe can bring out its aromas. Ideal for those seeking a measured, easy‑drinking Pinot Nero.
