Porto 2011 75cl, boxed, from the bottler Caves Messias, offers a measured example of a fortified wine with a clear vintage. In the glass it shows an intense colour and a dense texture; on the nose there are notes of ripe fruit, reduced nuances and sweet spice, always with moderate elegance. On the palate the sip is enveloping, with a balance between residual sugars and freshness that supports the structure without overwhelming. Polished tannins and long persistence invite slow enjoyment of the bottle.

It is recommended to serve at a not-too-high temperature, in appropriate glasses for fortified wines, and to open a few minutes in advance to allow the aromas to harmonise. It pairs well with aged cheeses, chocolate desserts or dried fruit, and can work as an after-dinner wine in small sips. Store in a cool, stable place; the box also makes it suitable as a thoughtful gift.
