Pairing Red meats, aged cheeses, flavorful dishes
In the glass it shows a deep ruby with violet highlights; on the nose it opens to sensations of ripe red fruit, cherry and a touch of plum, accompanied by light notes of sweet spices and a balsamic hint. The typical Barbera acidity gives lift to the palate, while the tannic texture, well controlled by aging, provides softness and structure. Overall it offers a frank, direct and pleasant balance, appearing contemporary without losing character.

On the palate it is medium-full bodied, with good juiciness and a sapidity that invites the next sip; the finish is persistent, clean and leaves a slight bitter note that recalls spirit-preserved fruit. It is a versatile wine: it stands up well to roasted and braised meat dishes, pairs with structured ragùs and medium-aged cheeses, and benefits from being served slightly aerated to highlight its aromatic nuances. Suggested serving temperature 16-18 °C; it can be enjoyed now but will reward a few years of further development.

Region: Piemonte
Country: Italia

Grapes: Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera, Freisa, Pelaverga (Pelaverga piccolo), Favorita
Historic Verduno winery operating since 1830. Estate-owned vineyards spread across the crus of Verduno and Monforte. Vinifies exclusively estate-grown grapes, with a strong focus on indigenous grape varieties. The range includes several Barolo, Verduno Pelaverga "Speziale", Barbera d'Alba and Dolcetto d'Alba. Family-run operation with a long local tradition.
Winery history
Family-run for generations, the winery has been in Verduno since the early 19th century. The main building is an 18th-century house adjacent to the historic centre; the family has continued winemaking, maintaining a family-sized operation and management, and preserving the local tradition of producing and bottling wines of the Langhe.
Production philosophy
The winery prioritizes its connection to the territory: it focuses primarily on native grape varieties, produces wine exclusively from estate-grown grapes, and maintains an approach that combines respect for traditional practices, artisanal care, and attention to oenological and agronomic innovations.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the crus of Verduno and Monforte d'Alba. The area's microclimate and the calcareous soils of the Langhe hills shape the character and elegance of the wines, particularly the Nebbiolo/Barolo of Verduno.
Awards and recognitions
Several of the winery's wines have received awards.
