The Refosco DOC from the Colli Orientali del Friuli by Livio Felluga presents a restrained, measured profile, typical of a well-structured red wine. In the glass it shows a deep ruby color; on the nose there are aromas of ripe red fruit, cherry and plum, accompanied by light earthy notes and a hint of delicate spice. The overall impression is balanced, with present but not aggressive tannins and a freshness that supports the sip.

On the palate it confirms a saline texture and good persistence, where the fruit integrates with mineral returns and a slight almond note on the finish. It pairs well with red meats, rustic roasts and medium-aged cheeses, but can also work with more structured preparations. A short decanting and serving at moderate temperature are recommended to fully appreciate its aromas. A characterful choice for those seeking an expressive yet measured red.

Winery history
Founded by Livio Felluga in 1956 after the post‑war rebuilding; Livio is regarded as the 'patriarch' of Friulian winemaking (he died in the night between Dec 21–22, 2016). The estate is family‑run (children Maurizio, Filippo, Elda and Andrea). The wine 'Illivio' was created by his children in 1998 and dedicated to him for his 85th birthday.
Production philosophy
Terroir-focused approach: careful vineyard work, respect for the territory (Rosazzo) and pursuit of quality. The 'Carta Geografica' serves as a manifesto of regional identity; wines are elegant, age-worthy and strongly expressive of place.
Terroir and vineyards
Vineyards located on the Rosazzo ridge and in the Colli Orientali del Friuli (province of Gorizia). Soils listed in technical sheets: marl and sandstone flysch of Eocene origin.
Awards and recognitions
