This white wine by Pflüger brings Riesling and the Ungsteiner Herrenberg reference in the Pfalz to the fore. Its name provides useful markers for anyone exploring German white wines, without assigning the wine characteristics that are not supported by the available information. Riesling is a grape variety known for its versatility: depending on the style, it can express itself in different ways. Sweetness, aromatic intensity and structure are therefore best assessed when tasting. The profile of this bottle is something to discover directly, paying attention to balance and finish and setting aside preconceived expectations.

At the table, a good starting point is delicate dishes based on fish, vegetables or white meat, with the preparation chosen to suit the wine’s actual style. If the tasting reveals greater freshness, light starters and dishes with a savoury note may also work well. If the wine seems softer, milder flavours and restrained seasoning are a better choice. Simple dishes can help bring out its character without overshadowing it. An option to consider for those who enjoy Riesling whites and want to explore Pflüger’s expression of this Pfalz reference.
