The Rosso Monferrato DOC "Merlot daSolo Monferrato Doppio" in Magnum format by Marchesi di Gresy is a testimony to the winemaking mastery of Piedmont and the particular attention that this historic winery reserves for the cultivation and vinification of the Merlot vine. This wine fully expresses the potential of Merlot grown in the lands of Monferrato, one of the most prized and versatile areas of Piedmont, known for its unique terroirs and its long winemaking tradition.

The "Merlot daSolo Monferrato Doppio" is the result of a careful selection of the best Merlot grapes, hand-harvested in the vineyards owned by the Marchesi di Gresy family. These grapes benefit from the temperate climate and rich, varied soils of Monferrato, which help give the wine aromatic complexity, structure and a remarkable aging capacity.

The winemaking is careful to preserve the varietal qualities of Merlot, with maceration and fermentation that aim to extract color, aromas and tannins in a balanced way. The refinement in French oak barriques adds further nuances of complexity to the wine, enriching it with notes of spices, vanilla and toasting, which blend harmoniously with the fruit.

Presented in an elegant Magnum format, the "Merlot daSolo Monferrato Doppio" offers not only a greater quantity of wine, ideal for special occasions and sharing, but also a better aging potential, thanks to the optimal ratio between wine volume and surface area contact with the air inside the bottle.

Visually, the wine stands out for its intense and deep red color. On the nose, it opens with a rich and inviting bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, dominate, enriched by accents of chocolate, coffee and a delicate herbaceous vein. In the mouth, "Merlot daSolo Monferrato Doppio" reveals a robust but balanced structure, with soft and velvety tannins that accompany a long gustatory and aromatic persistence, characterized by an elegant balance between the fruit and the notes deriving from the aging in wood.

Perfect in combination with rich and structured dishes, such as red meats, game and mature cheeses, this Rosso Monferrato DOC Merlot daSolo Monferrato Doppio by Marchesi di Gresy is an excellent choice for lovers of Piedmontese wines and for those looking for a tasting experience that combines elegance, complexity and varietal expressiveness.

Winery history
The estate of Tenute Cisa Asinari has been linked to the di Grésy family since the 18th century; the family has owned the Martinenga cru since 1797. Winemaking under the Grésy label in its modern form was begun by Alberto di Grésy around 1973, when the family decided to produce wine exclusively from their own grapes and to promote wines that expressed the identity of the vineyards.
Production philosophy
The estate places great emphasis on vineyard care and on respecting the grape varieties and tradition: winemaking aims to enhance the terroir’s expression without altering it, producing elegant, balanced wines that reflect the character of each vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The estates are located across the Langhe and Monferrato and include Martinenga, Monte Aribaldo, La Serra and Monte Colombo. Martinenga is regarded as one of the area’s finest geographical indications, and the grapes from all the estates are generally vinified at the Martinenga winery.
