Rosso 'Sceg' by Elena Fucci is an Aglianico del Vulture DOC produced organically. In the glass it shows a deep ruby colour; on the nose it offers notes of ripe red fruit, earthy tones and subtle spicy nuances. The structure is supported by present but well-integrated tannins, accompanied by a fresh acidity that maintains balance. It is a straightforward, characterful wine that reflects the mineral character of the Vulture's volcanic soils without excess. It clearly demonstrates the expressive potential of Aglianico in the Vulture area, combining rusticity and finesse.

Pairs with red meats, braised dishes, country ragù and medium-aged cheeses; it can stand up to savory, well-seasoned preparations. It is recommended to open the bottle a few minutes before serving to allow the aromas to unfold and to serve at around 16-18 °C. Suitable for those seeking a territorial, honest red, appropriate for everyday drinking as well as informal meals.

Winery history
The turning point was in 2000 when Elena chose not to sell the family property; she studied oenology and agronomy in Pisa and returned in 2005. Production started with only a few thousand bottles and has grown since. ([decanter.com](https://www.decanter.com/wine/an-interview-with-elena-fucci-495001/))
Production philosophy
Strong focus on respecting the volcanic terroir and certified organic viticulture; hand-harvest, controlled cellar interventions (relatively short macerations), experimental use of neutral amphorae and French barrels; winery built with recycled materials and sustainable energy solutions.
