Also produces Solengo and extra virgin olive oil.
Winery history
The Argiano estate has documented origins dating back to the Early Middle Ages and developed around Villa Bellaria, built by the Pecci in the Renaissance. Over the centuries the property passed through several noble families; in the twentieth century it became a leading name in Brunello production. In recent years Argiano has embarked on a "New Renaissance" with restorations, soil studies and new winemaking projects. It was acquired by entrepreneur André Esteves between 2014 and 2022 and has launched crus such as the Vigna del Suolo.
Production philosophy
Argiano combines respect for tradition with a scientific approach to its terroir: soil microzonation, clonal selection of Sangiovese, and organic and regenerative viticulture practices. The estate favors low‑impact interventions, biodiversity in the vineyard and minimal‑intervention winemaking; it has adopted measures promoting circularity, achieved carbon neutrality and holds sustainability certifications.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located on the southwest side of Montalcino, on a plateau at around 350 metres above sea level. The vineyards are planted on calcareous marl soils containing marine fossils and on sandier alluvial areas; this pedological diversity has guided parcel-by-parcel winemaking and the creation of a cru.
Awards and recognitions
