The Sangiovese IGT Colleravara from Santa Barbara is a wine made from the Sangiovese grape and labeled IGT. It shows a ruby red colour of medium intensity; on the nose there are notes of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, floral hints of violet and a subtle spicy thread that leans towards earthy tones. On the palate it is fresh and sapid, with present but measured tannins and a balance that favors drinkability over power.

A versatile wine, it suits everyday dishes: cured meats, white meats, simple pasta with sauce and soft cheeses. It is recommended to serve it around 16–18 °C and, if preferred, let it breathe briefly to soften edges. Those looking for a straightforward and honest Sangiovese will find Colleravara a practical and recognizable choice in the glass. It works well for informal dinners and shared moments, pleasant both on the first glass and the next.

Winery history

Production philosophy
Passion and innovation, respect for the land and grapes. The estate often makes experimental yet drinkable wines: “to make the wine that I like first of all, a wine for the drinker.” Organic practices are used for some labels, including Back to Basics.
