In the glass it shows a lively ruby color, with muted highlights that invite a sip. The aromatic profile plays on red fruits — cherry and raspberry — supported by light herbal notes and a touch of sweet spice; there are no excesses, it maintains a fresh character. On the palate it shows solid acidity, supported but not harsh tannins and a lean structure that favors balance and drinkability; the finish is fresh rather than austere, with fruity returns that cleanse the palate and invite another sip.

It’s a Sangiovese that aims for substance: immediate but with character, suitable for everyday dining and traditional preparations. It pairs easily with tomato pasta, grilled meats and semi-aged cheeses; it also works well with mushroom dishes or pizza. Serve slightly chilled to enhance its liveliness, and opening it a few minutes beforehand helps its expressiveness. A straightforward, honest wine with pleasant drinkability.

Winery history
The winery has been rooted in the Orvieto area since the late 19th century; official sources record the founding of Casa Vinicola Luigi Bigi in 1880. Originally based in the former Franciscan monastery "La Trinità," production was moved to more modern facilities in Ponte Giulio during the 20th century.
