Badia a Coltibuono, located in the heart of Chianti Classico, is deeply rooted in the culture and history of Tuscany, with an ongoing commitment to producing wines that express the pure essence of their terroir.
Sangioveto, a name that recalls the ancient denomination of Sangiovese, is selected from old vineyards characterized by low yield, which allows us to obtain grapes of exceptional concentration and aromatic intensity. This wine represents the highest expression of Badia a Coltibuono's philosophy, which favors organic farming and scrupulous attention in every phase of production, from the vineyard to the cellar.
The vinification of Sangioveto di Toscana IGT involves the use of traditional and modern techniques, with the aim of enhancing the peculiarities of Sangiovese. After fermentation in stainless steel containers, the wine is aged in oak barriques, where it develops complexity, structure and harmony, without losing the authenticity and freshness of the fruit.
Visually, Sangioveto stands out for its deep and bright ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet, where notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, intertwine with accents of spices, tobacco and a light balsamic note, evidence of the careful maturation in wood.
In the mouth, the wine is powerful but balanced, with a well-defined tannic structure and an acidity that enhances its freshness and drinkability. The flavors of ripe fruit blend with spicy and vanilla notes, leading to a long and persistent finish, which invites reflection.
