Discover the story and wines of Azienda Agricola Arianna Occhipinti.

Winery established in the Fossa di Lupo area (Vittoria, RG), dedicated to promoting Sicilian native grape varieties with a low‑intervention approach: biodynamic/organic vineyard practices and natural winemaking with indigenous yeasts.
Region: Sicilia (Vittoria, provincia di Ragusa)
Country: Italia
Grapes: Frappato, Nero d'Avola, Moscato di Alessandria, Albanello
Strong focus on biodiversity: cover crops, preservation of spontaneous flora, and manual vineyard work. Biodynamic and organic practices as declared by the producer; spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts. Signature wines: SP68, Il Frappato, Siccagno, contrada wines tied to specific parcels. Vineyards in Vittoria's historic contrade: Fossa di Lupo, Bombolieri, Bastonaca, Santa Teresa, Pettineo. Integrated agricultural production that also includes olive oil and biodiversity projects.
Winery history
The winery originated in the Fossa di Lupo area, along the SP68 that connects the countryside of Vittoria. From managing small parcels in local contrade, the winery developed research into the different vines and surrounding soils, leading to the selection of vineyards in contrade such as Bombolieri, Bastonaca, Santa Teresa and Pettineo, and to the production of labels dedicated to the SP68 road and to each individual contrada.
Production philosophy
Priority is given to biodiversity and respect for the soil: manual work, use of cover crops and spontaneous vegetation, and avoidance of pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers. In the winery spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts are favoured, with minimal intervention, low additions of sulfites and little or no use of filtration, following an approach oriented toward the so-called "natural wine."
Terroir and vineyards
Situated in the territory of Vittoria, between the Monti Iblei and hills characterized by red sands and calcareous deposits. The vineyards for the different labels are located on red sand and calcarenite soils at around 220 m above sea level, extending across several contrade within the Cerasuolo di Vittoria production area.
Awards and recognitions
Occhipinti wines have received awards and ratings from various wine guides and publications across multiple vintages.
