The "Torrione" produced by the renowned Petrolo winery is a true expression of the terroir of the Valdarno di Sopra area. Presented in the imposing Jeroboam format, this red wine is ideal for special occasions or as a showpiece in an enthusiast's collection.

The wine stands out for its complexity and elegance, the result of expert vinification of predominantly Sangiovese grapes, with a smaller percentage of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The fusion of these varieties gives Torrione a distinctive character, where the typical robustness of Sangiovese harmoniously balances with the softness and structure provided by Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Deep ruby in color, Torrione offers a rich bouquet of ripe red fruit aromas, subtle spices, and hints of damp earth and tobacco, which beautifully evolve with bottle aging. On the palate, it presents a balanced profile with nice acidity and well-integrated tannins, promising excellent aging potential. The finish is persistent, leaving a pleasant sense of completeness.

Aged in French oak barriques for about 15 months, this wine showcases its best character after a few years from harvest, though it is already pleasantly accessible after just a few years on the market.

To fully enjoy its qualities, it is recommended to decant Torrione a few hours before serving and pair it with rich dishes such as roasted red meats, game, or aged cheeses. It represents an authentic expression of Tuscan winemaking artistry and is an excellent choice for any enthusiast seeking wines with a strong sense of place.
