The Valtellina Superiore DOCG "Sassella" by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi is an ode to Nebbiolo, known locally as Chiavennasca, grown in the historic sub-area of Sassella, one of the jewels of Valtellina. This area is particularly appreciated for the quality of its soils and solar exposure, which together create ideal conditions for the maturation of Nebbiolo, allowing it to fully express its complexity and finesse. Casa Vinicola Rainoldi, with a tradition dating back to 1925, has been able to masterfully interpret the potential of this area, producing a Valtellina Superiore that embodies the elegance, structure and intensity typical of the best wines of the region.

The vinification of "Sassella" follows traditional methods, aimed at preserving the varietal characteristics and the uniqueness of the terroir. After fermentation, the wine is aged in wooden barrels, a process that enriches its gustatory and olfactory profile, giving it greater complexity and tannic softness which improves its drinkability.

Visually, "Sassella" stands out for its garnet red color, typical of matured Nebbiolo, with reflections that tend towards orange with aging. On the nose, it offers a rich and complex bouquet, with dominant notes of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and raspberries, floral accents of rose and violet, and nuances of spices, leather and tobacco, which blend in perfect harmony.

In the mouth, the wine reveals great structure and depth, with fine and well-integrated tannins that support its elegance. The acidity is lively and well balanced, leading to a long and persistent finish, where the fruity flavors and spicy notes are renewed, leaving a pleasant sensation of complexity and harmony.

Ideal as an accompaniment to structured dishes, such as red meats, game and mature cheeses, the Valtellina Superiore DOCG "Sassella" by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi is a fine choice for lovers of noble and structured wines, capable of offering an intense tasting experience that reflects the authenticity and richness of the Valtellina area.
