The Dun Cana Marsala Cask from Isle of Raasay presents a warm, enveloping profile: maturation in casks that previously held Marsala leaves vinous, sweetish traces without weighing it down. On the nose, notes of dried fruit such as fig and raisin emerge, along with caramel, wildflower honey and a background of delicate spices; a subtle maritime smokiness rises in the background, adding character without dominating. The balance between sweetness, freshness and salinity makes the sip immediate yet nuanced.

On the palate it shows roundness and structure: yellow-fleshed fruit jam, toasted almond and a light hint of liquorice integrate with the Marsala's vinous note; the progression is warm but clean, with a persistence that brings back fruity memories and a slight bitter finish. Ideal to enjoy neat or with a few millilitres of water to open up the aromas, it pairs gracefully with aged cheeses, dark chocolate or desserts based on dried fruit. Packaged in the elegant case, it is also an excellent gift idea.
