Linkwood 2014 10Y Provenance by Douglas Laing comes in a 70 cl bottle with a presentation box, expressing a typically Speyside profile: elegant and notably fresh. On the nose there is a subtle weave of white flowers and fleshy fruits, such as apple and pear, accompanied by notes of light honey and lightly toasted malt. The character remains composed, with aromatic clarity that invites a measured sip rather than hearty drinking.

On the palate it shows a medium body, a balance between softness and saline tension; the spices are delicate and the wood is felt only as a hint of vanilla and toasted bread, without overpowering. The finish is appropriately persistent, with citrus echoes and a slight pleasant bitterness. Excellent enjoyed neat or with a drop of water to open the aromas; pairs with soft cheeses, dried fruit or smoked fish dishes. The presentation box also makes it an elegant gift for those who appreciate Speyside single malts.
