A winery of the Tenute del Cerro group based in Marcellano (Gualdo Cattaneo, PG), best known for producing Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG and Montefalco Rosso.
Còlpetrone is part of the Tenute del Cerro project and, according to sources, developed from the late 20th century. Initial winemaking took place in the old farmhouse known as “Còlpetrone vecchia”; the modern winery, built into the hillside to control temperature and humidity, was inaugurated later. Several commercial and institutional profiles report 1995 as the year the winery began operating in its current form.
