The Bianco Malvasia IGP Basilicata "Lerà" from Terra dei Re winery is a refined example that encapsulates the essence of Basilicata's unique terroir. This wine is produced exclusively with Malvasia grapes, a variety that expresses one of its best variations in this region, thanks to the particularly favorable climate and the volcanic soil that enhance the bouquet with distinctive mineral notes.

The vinification of "Lerà" follows traditional methods that respect and enhance the original fruit. The wine has a straw yellow color with golden reflections suggesting its complexity and aromatic richness. On the nose, it opens with an intense aromaticity ranging from wildflowers to riper yellow fleshed fruit sensations, like peaches and apricots, enriched by light spicy notes and a touch of vanilla due to brief aging in small wooden containers.

On the palate, the Bianco Malvasia "Lerà" is elegant and well-balanced. The entry is soft and enveloping, with a lively freshness leading to a pleasantly persistent finish. This wine stands out for its medium structure and the well-balanced interplay between acidity and saltiness, making it extremely versatile at the table.

Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with light starters, delicate fish dishes, or fresh cheeses. It is also an excellent companion to traditional dishes from the cuisine of Lucania, emphasizing the connection with its region of origin.

Therefore, the Bianco Malvasia IGP Basilicata "Lerà" from Terra dei Re is a distinguished choice for those wishing to explore the nuances of a historic grape variety with a modern interpretation, capable of offering an intense and memorable tasting experience.

Winery history
The project began in the early 21st century at the initiative of the Rabasco and Leone families; the first harvests and winemaking date back to the early 2000s. Over the years the estate has developed vineyards in the prime contrade of Monte Vulture and introduced labels such as Divinus, Nocte and Vulcano 800. Since 2018/2019 it has collaborated with winemaker Riccardo Cotarella.
Production philosophy
Production oriented toward respect for the territory and sustainability: precision agriculture practices, emissions reduction, use of photovoltaic systems and rainwater harvesting, with the aim of minimizing the environmental impact of the bottles. The company also states that it was among the first in the wine sector to obtain the Friend of the Earth certification.
Terroir and vineyards
Operations take place on the slopes of Monte Vulture: volcanic soils, a strong diurnal temperature range and varying altitudes that favour the expression of Aglianico, Pinot Nero and white varieties. The winery is part of the DOC Aglianico del Vulture.

The winery and its wines have received numerous national and international recognitions: examples include high scores and mentions in specialized guides, repeated "Tre Bicchieri" awards for the Aglianico "Nocte", as well as prizes for sparkling wines and other labels.
