The Barbaresco Cru Pora from the renowned Cà del Baio winery represents excellence in the landscape of Piedmontese wines. Presented in a Magnum format and stored in a prestigious wooden case, this wine is a true gem for connoisseurs.

Pora is a highly esteemed cru, located in the famous Barbaresco area, with Nebbiolo grapes carefully selected to ensure superior quality. The vinification follows traditional methods that respect the terroir and the identity of the variety. After fermentation, the wine matures in oak barrels for a period that can exceed 24 months, gaining complexity and harmony.

Visually, the Barbaresco Cru Pora presents an intense garnet red color, with orange reflections that emerge as it ages. On the nose, it reveals rich aromas of violet, cherry, tobacco, and spicy hints, a result of its aging in wood. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet elegant and well-balanced, with silky tannins that promise excellent aging potential.

This Barbaresco is ideal for accompanying red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses. Its structure and complexity also make it perfect as a meditation wine.

Serve at cellar temperature (about 18°C), decanting the wine at least an hour before serving to enhance all its qualities. Such a prestigious wine merits attention and respect in service, ensuring an unforgettable tasting experience. The presentation in Magnum provides superior longevity, ideal for collectors and special occasions.

Country: Italia
Founded: 1870
Grapes: Nebbiolo, Chardonnay, Dolcetto, Barbera, Riesling, Moscato
Family-run winery Based in Treiso, with vineyards in the Barbaresco crus. Adherence to the principles of the Green Experience project for sustainable viticulture Use of native yeasts and limited use of sulfites in the cellar.
Winery history
The Grasso family has been connected to these hills for generations: Giuseppe Grasso's arrival in Treiso is documented in 1870, and in the following decades the family progressively selected and vinified individual parcels. In the 1980s and 2000s the winery refined the separation of grapes by cru, and in 2008 introduced experiments with Riesling. The revival and modern visibility of the winery are linked to the work of Giulio Grasso, and today management also involves the family's daughters.
Production philosophy
It favors a sustainable approach to viticulture, eliminating chemical weed control, using cover crops, and prioritizing biodiversity and soil conservation. In the cellar, fermentations with indigenous yeasts are encouraged and the use of sulfites is limited to preserve the character of the vintages and their ageing potential.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate and most of its vineyards are located in Treiso, near Barbaresco and not far from Neive. The estate's vineyards fall within historic crus such as Vallegrande, Asili, Pora, Marcarini, Ferrere and Trestelle; the soils are typically calcareous marls that characterize the Barbaresco area.
Awards and recognitions
Giulio Grasso was named "Winemaker of the Year" by the Gambero Rosso guide.
