Barolo Chinato by Bartolo Mascarello is a Piedmontese wine specialty that combines the mastery in the production of Barolo with the art of maceration of herbs and spices. This flavored wine, presented in 50cl bottles, represents a perfect example of how tradition and innovation can meet to create a product of extraordinary complexity and charm.
Produced from an excellent Barolo base, Bartolo Mascarello's Chinato is enriched through the maceration of a variety of aromatic herbs and spices, including china (hence the name), cinnamon, coriander and others, following a traditional recipe that remains a well-kept family secret. This process gives the wine a series of unique aromatic and gustatory nuances, making it a distinctive product in the panorama of aromatized wines.
Visually, Barolo Chinato presents itself with the characteristic garnet red color of Barolo, enriched by amber reflections which testify to its particular preparation. On the nose, it stands out for its intense aromatic complexity, where the typical notes of Nebbiolo blend harmoniously with the scents of herbs and spices, creating a rich and inviting bouquet.
In the mouth, the Barolo Chinato by Bartolo Mascarello reveals an extraordinary harmony of flavours, with the warmth and structure of the Barolo perfectly balanced with the sweetness and bitterness characteristic of the aromatic herbs, offering an enveloping and persistent sip, with a long and complex.
Ideal as a meditation wine, Barolo Chinato can also be served as a digestive at the end of the meal or accompanied with dark chocolate, enhancing an extraordinarily rich combination of flavours. It is also appreciated in some traditions as a delicate remedy to warm the coldest evenings.
