The Friulano Friuli Isonzo DOC from Tenuta Villanova is a refined expression of one of the most distinctive grape varieties in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region. This strictly single-varietal white wine is made exclusively with Friulano grapes, previously known as Tocai Friulano, which find their ideal environment in the well-drained gravel soils of the Isonzo area to express their unique identity.

The color of the Friulano Friuli Isonzo DOC is a delicate straw yellow with greenish reflections, indicative of freshness and vitality. On the nose, the bouquet is complex and seductive, with aromatic notes of white flowers such as chamomile and acacia intertwined with scents of white-fleshed fruits like pear and peach, enriched by a slight hint of almond and aromatic herbs that showcase the typicity of the grape variety.

On the palate, the wine is elegant and well-balanced, with a lively freshness that harmonizes with a medium structure and a pleasant sapidity. The aromatic persistence is remarkable, leaving a clean and pleasantly bitter aftertaste that invites another sip.

The vinification of the Friulano Friuli Isonzo DOC follows methods that respect tradition, with fermentation at controlled temperatures followed by a brief period of maturation on fine lees, which helps to enrich the wine's flavor profile.

Ideal as an aperitif, this wine pairs wonderfully with fish dishes, seafood, white meats, and fresh cheeses, enhancing the flavors without overpowering them. It is a wine that superbly represents the Isonzo territory, perfect for those seeking elegance and terroir in a white wine.

Production of still and sparkling wines, as well as distilled spirits. An example of a historic estate focused on vineyard zoning and the enhancement of the crus. Offering guided tours, tastings and wine tourism experiences.
Winery history
The estate’s earliest documentary records date to 1499; over the centuries it has maintained an uninterrupted winemaking presence. In the 20th century the property was acquired by the Bennati family, and today the estate is run by the next generation, which has led a refresh of the brand identity without losing its connection to the historical archive and local tradition.
Production philosophy
The estate emphasizes respect for the land and the enhancement of individual parcels: cultivation follows vineyard zoning and protects the soil’s identity, while in the cellar the approach seeks to interpret with balance the character of the different crus. Alongside wine production, the estate also values the tradition of in‑house distillation.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate stretches from the alluvial plain along the Isonzo to the hills of the Collio, encompassing vineyards located in the Collio DOC and Friuli Isonzo DOC. The estate notes the area is characterized by varied microclimates and soils that contribute to distinct wine profiles.
