Torre Rosazza's Pinot Noir Friuli Grave DOC comes from vineyards trained on the Guyot system, plants that produce only 55 quintals per hectare, a way of obtaining high quality grapes. Harvesting takes place around the first week of September, the grapes are destemmed and the skins remain in contact with the musts for a period of 5 days before soft pressing. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks maintained at a controlled temperature. A percentage of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in barriques and is then blended with the part that is aged in steel. It rests in glass for at least two months before release.
It has a clear ruby red color, typical of Pinot Noir. It releases intense, fruity aromas of small red berries, such as cherries, as well as floral aromas of field violets and herbaceous-spicy notes. The taste has decent structure, right sapidity and balance in all components, and excellent persistence and aromaticity.
A versatile wine, excellent with meat dishes especially with roast turkey; try the pairing with pizza.
