Tokaji Oremus Aszu 6 Puttonyos is a sweet wine originating from Hungary. Aszù is a symbol of tradition, innovation, and excellence, a sublime wine with roots in an unrepeatable land. This delicious nectar can only be developed in years of excellent harvests, when nature provides favorable climatic conditions for the development of noble rot. The grape varieties are Furmint and Hárslevelü.

I 6 puttonyos refers to the number of baskets (called Puttonyos) of Aszú grapes (the grapes affected by "botrytis" or noble rot), of 25 kg capacity mixed in tanks with 136 liters of conventional white wine, undergoing slow fermentation.

It has a bright golden color with dense, sinuous stripes. On the nose, clear notes of honey emerge, but also a hint of citrus, mainly tangerine, with fruity hints of peach and pear. Pastry and cinnamon remnants.

In the mouth, the first unexpected perception is a pronounced acidity, which contrasts with the sweetness of the wine, a very beautiful combination, with persistent and intense intensity. A vague memory of sweet quince.

A great wine for meditation, as an aperitif, with appetizers, and dessert.

Country: Ungheria
Founded: 1993
Grapes: Furmint, Hárslevelű, Zéta, Sárgamuskotály
Located in Tolcsva in the heart of the Tokaj‑Hegyalja district. Ownership and investment by the Vega Sicilia group to revitalize the area. Production of both traditional sweet wines and distinctive dry white wines. Showcasing historic underground cellars and selection practices for botrytized grapes. Predominant use of native varieties: Furmint, Hárslevelű, Zéta and Sárgamuskotály.
Winery history
The Oremus project was launched with investment from the Álvarez family to revive quality production in the Tokaj region after the communist era. The winery was developed by combining modern techniques with a revival of local traditions, enhancing the historic underground cellars and the vineyards in the Tolcsva area.
Production philosophy
Uniting respect for Tokaj's winemaking tradition with contemporary winemaking technologies and a rigorous selection of grapes. The approach favors native varieties and the production of both botrytis sweet wines and dry white wines distinguished by acidity and minerality.
Terroir and vineyards
Tokaj–Hegyalja, a historic wine region in northeastern Hungary dominated by the Zemplén Mountains. The area features volcanic soils and a microclimate favourable to the development of Botrytis cinerea. The winery is located in the village of Tolcsva, in the heart of the historic Tokaj area.
Awards and recognitions
