Opus One, the result of the collaboration between two legendary figures in the world of wine, Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi of Napa Valley, is one of the most prestigious and internationally recognized labels. Created with the intent to blend the elegance and complexity of Bordeaux wines with the intensity and generosity typical of Californian wines, Opus One represents a bridge between two wine worlds, celebrating the best of both.

This red wine is a carefully selected blend of traditionally Bordeaux varietals, with Cabernet Sauvignon forming its backbone, joined by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and, occasionally, Malbec. The grapes come from Opus One-owned vineyards in Napa Valley, managed with an absolute dedication to quality and respect for the terroir.

Visually, Opus One presents itself with a deep, almost inky color, which heralds its intensity and complexity. On the nose, the wine explodes with a rich and multi-layered bouquet, which ranges from notes of ripe black fruit, such as cassis and blackberry, to nuances of spices, chocolate, coffee and a delicate grain of cedar wood, the result of aging in barrique of French oak.

In the mouth, Opus One offers an extraordinarily harmonious and balanced tasting experience. The power of Cabernet Sauvignon is perfectly complemented by the softness of Merlot, the structure of Cabernet Franc, the spiciness of Petit Verdot and the freshness of Malbec. The tannins are fine and velvety, the acidity is lively and the finish is long and persistent, with a complexity of flavors that persists for minutes.

Opus One is not just a wine to taste; it is an experience to be lived, which evolves and enriches with age. It is ideal for special occasions or as part of a collection for enthusiasts, and pairs beautifully with rich, structured dishes, such as roasted red meats, game dishes and mature cheeses.

The creation of Opus One marked a historic moment in the world of wine, demonstrating that through vision, passion and dedication it is possible to create wines that walk the line between art and craft, celebrating diversity and unity of the wine worlds.
