"Domus Caia" exhibits an intense ruby red color, which precedes the rich and complex bouquet that unfolds to the nose: notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and plums, blend with hints of sweet spices, tobacco, and a light touch of vanilla, derived from aging in wooden barrels. On the palate, the wine is robust yet balanced, with a well-integrated tannic structure that promises excellent aging potential. The acidity is well balanced, a feature that makes this Sangiovese particularly suitable to accompany dishes from the Romagna cuisine, such as tagliatelle with wild boar ragù or dishes based on red meats and game.
The "Domus Caia" reserve has been aged in barrels for a period ranging from 12 to 18 months, followed by further maturation in the bottle, refining its organoleptic qualities and enriching its aromatic profile.
