The Vermentino di Gallura Superiore "Monteoro" by Sella & Mosca is a white wine that best expresses the typicality of its terroir and the mastery of Sardinian winemaking. Produced in the enchanting region of Gallura in Sardinia, this wine is made from carefully selected Vermentino grapes, a variety that conveys intensity and freshness thanks to the unique combination of the area's climate and granite soil.

The "Monteoro" presents itself with a bright straw yellow color, tending towards greenish reflections. On the nose, the bouquet is wide and complex, with notes of fresh fruit like green apple and melon, supported by floral nuances of hawthorn and mineral accents reminiscent of the sea breeze. The wine is enhanced by a slightly herbaceous touch, typical of Vermentino, which provides a pleasant olfactory vivacity.

On the palate, the Vermentino di Gallura Superiore "Monteoro" stands out for its extraordinary freshness and sapidity. The acidity is well balanced and harmoniously integrates with the medium-light body of the wine. The finish is persistent and clean, leaving a pleasant sensation of freshness accompanied by a slightly almondy aftertaste.

This wine is ideal as an aperitif or paired with fish dishes, seafood, and vegetable-based preparations. It is also a perfect companion for typical Sardinian cuisine such as fregula with clams. Serve at a temperature of about 8-10 °C to enhance all its nuances.

The Vermentino di Gallura Superiore "Monteoro" by Sella & Mosca is an excellent example of how terroir and tradition can combine to create wines of great expressiveness and character.

Winery history
Founded in 1899 by two Piedmontese entrepreneurs, Erminio Sella and Edgardo Mosca, the estate was established through the reclamation of the plain north of Alghero. Over time the company has developed across a large Mediterranean property; alongside the historic winery and service buildings there are hospitality facilities created in the old farm buildings. Since 2016 Sella & Mosca has been part of the Terra Moretti group, which has initiated renovation and investment works on the estate.
Production philosophy
It combines the enhancement of Sardinian native grape varieties with the cultivation and celebration of international varieties. It promotes practices focused on environmental sustainability and on the connection with the territory, with sustainability certification projects.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in the La Nurra area in northwest Sardinia, near Alghero. The vineyards benefit from calcareous, sandy and clay soils and from the influence of the sea. Sella & Mosca also has vineyards in other parts of the island, such as Gallura and Sulcis.
