The Rosso di Valtellina DOC "San Gregorio" by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi is a splendid representation of Nebbiolo, an iconic grape variety of the Lombardy region, in particular of the Valtellina valley, an area renowned for its red wines of character and finesse. Casa Vinicola Rainoldi, founded in 1925 and located in the heart of Valtellina, is known for its excellence in the production of wines that faithfully express the terroir and local winemaking tradition.

"San Gregorio" is obtained mainly from Nebbiolo grapes, locally known as Chiavennasca, which find an ideal habitat in Valtellina thanks to the sunny terraces, the soil rich in minerals and the unique microclimate. These conditions allow us to obtain high quality grapes, with optimal maturation which helps to develop the aromatic complexity and tannic structure characteristic of Nebbiolo.

Winemaking follows a traditional approach, with prolonged maceration to extract color, aromas and tannins, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine is then aged in wooden barrels, which helps to round out the tannins and add notes of complexity without overpowering the freshness and natural elegance of the Nebbiolo.

Visually, the "San Gregorio" Rosso di Valtellina DOC presents itself with a garnet red color typical of Nebbiolo, bright and inviting. On the nose, it offers an intense and complex aromatic bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, enriched by floral nuances, sweet spices and a light touch of tobacco and leather, which reflect the varietal characteristics and the influence of wood .

In the mouth, the wine reveals an elegant and balanced structure, with fine tannins and a lively acidity that supports its expressiveness and length. Red fruit flavors blend with notes of dried rose, spice and a light minerality, leading to a persistent and harmonious finish.

Ideal in combination with traditional Lombard cuisine, red meats, game and mature cheeses, the Rosso di Valtellina DOC "San Gregorio" by Casa Vinicola Rainoldi is an authentic expression of mountain Nebbiolo, which offers a tasting experience capable of uniting aromatic intensity, elegance and territorial typicality.
