Cottanera's Etna DOC Bianco Contrada Cottanera is a wine that exemplifies the uniqueness and richness of the volcanic terroir of Etna, the famous wine region located on the slopes of the volcano of the same name in Sicily. Produced by the Cottanera winery, which takes its name from the district in which it is located, this white wine is a tribute to the passion and dedication of the family of winemakers who work to best express the potential of the territory.
Typically, Etna Bianco DOC is made with native grapes, mainly Carricante, a characteristic vine of the Etna area known for its lively acidity and its ability to reflect the peculiarities of the mineral-rich volcanic soil. The Contrada Cottanera, with its specific pedoclimatic conditions, offers a unique microclimate for the cultivation of Carricante, which here expresses itself with particularly intense aromatic notes and notable complexity.
Etna DOC Bianco Contrada Cottanera has a bright straw yellow color, which heralds the freshness and liveliness of the wine. On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet where notes of white pulp fruit, such as peach and pear, stand out, enriched by nuances of white flowers, aromatic herbs and a marked minerality, reminiscent of flint, typical of wines produced on lands of origin volcanic.
In the mouth, the wine demonstrates great elegance, with a perfect balance between the freshness given by the acidity and the structure given by the maturation in barrels or tanks that respect the purity of the fruit. The minerality is clearly evident, contributing to a long and pleasant aromatic persistence, which leaves a clean sensation and invites another sip.
This wine is ideal for accompanying fish, seafood, vegetable dishes and fresh cheeses. Its complexity and freshness also make it suitable as an aperitif, capable of stimulating the appetite and preparing the palate for the pleasures of the table.
