The Canaiolo IGT Toscana Rosso BIO from La Lastra is an excellent example of how organic farming methods can enhance the purity and authenticity of native Tuscan grapes. Produced exclusively from Canaiolo grapes, this wine is a tribute to the richness and tradition of Tuscany's wine heritage.

With an intense ruby red color and violet reflections, the Canaiolo from La Lastra stands out for its complex and inviting aromatic profile. On the nose, notes of forest fruits, such as blackberry and raspberry, are perfectly integrated with subtle spicy accents and a delicate hint of vanilla, resulting from balanced aging in barriques.

On the palate, the wine is structured and harmonious, with a softness that envelops the palate, balanced by a surprising freshness that beckons another sip. The tannins are well-presented but finely polished, contributing to a long and pleasantly persistent finish.

Perfect to serve with Tuscan dishes like bistecca alla fiorentina (Florentine steak) or with aged cheeses, the Canaiolo IGT Toscana Rosso BIO from La Lastra is also ideal for a relaxing evening. Its organic production also ensures environmental respect and offers an authentic tasting experience that adheres to the principles of sustainability.

This wine not only tells the story of a region but brings it to life in every glass, offering a unique sensory journey through the glorious wine region of Tuscany.

Estimated annual production: approximately 50,000 bottles.
Winery history
La Lastra was established as a winemaking project by Renato Spanu and Nadia Betti; various company sources and specialized catalogues place the start of operations in the mid-1990s, a development that led the estate to establish vineyards and a small agriturismo associated with its production.
Production philosophy
The estate states it follows a sustainability-oriented, organic approach to viticulture: it grows and vinifies only grapes from its own vineyards and, according to its official website, uses organic methods to enhance the expression of the terroir.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are distributed among the hills surrounding San Gimignano and in parcels close to Siena's historic center. The soils are described as Pliocene, medium-textured with calcareous sand, typical of the area.
Awards and recognitions
