The Satrico Lazio IGT by Casale del Giglio is an excellent example of white wine produced in the Lazio region, skillfully reflecting the winemaking art of the coastal area south of Rome. Made from a precise blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and Trebbiano grapes, this wine exhibits a bright straw-yellow color with greenish highlights.

On the nose, Satrico releases a rich and complex bouquet, with fragrant notes of white-fleshed fruits like pear and peach, enriched by floral hints and a subtle grassy touch, owing to the presence of Sauvignon in the blend. These aromas harmoniously intertwine with nuances of citrus and a hint of minerality, making it extremely inviting and fresh.

On the palate, the wine displays a well-balanced structure, supported by a lively acidity that leads to a pleasantly refreshing finish, making each sip satisfyingly persistent. The fruity and floral sensations perceived on the nose are also found on the palate, accompanied by a delicate citric component that enhances its cleanliness and elegance.

The Satrico Lazio IGT is a versatile wine, perfect for pairing with light appetizers, fish dishes, and fresh cheeses. It is also an excellent companion for vegetarian dishes and chicken-based meals. Its freshness and lightness make it ideal for enjoying as an aperitif.

Best served chilled, this elegant white wine from Lazio can be enjoyed immediately but is also suitable for brief aging, during which its aromas can evolve and integrate further, offering an even richer and more nuanced tasting experience.

Strong commitment to varietal experimentation. Recovery and promotion of Lazio's native grape varieties. Vineyards are also located on the Pontine Islands for special productions. Varied selection: white, rosé and red wines, passito wines, grappa and oil. Cultural activities and an archaeological project related to the territory.
Winery history
The estate is tied to the Santarelli family, whose entrepreneurial roots go back to the original family firm. The Casale del Giglio winery was founded as an independent entity in the Le Ferriere area and has, over the decades, established a program of varietal research and experimentation involving dozens of grape varieties. In recent decades the company has recovered and relaunched local varieties and has complemented its winemaking with cultural and archaeological initiatives linked to the local area.
Production philosophy
The winery adopts an applied research approach, prioritizing quality in areas not yet fully valued, with attention to agronomic sustainability and the rediscovery of indigenous grape varieties, combined with modern production and commercial management.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the Tyrrhenian hinterland of the Agro Pontino, at the foot of the Monti Lepini and under the moderating influence of sea breezes. The estate also manages small terraced vineyards on Ponza for the production of Biancolella. The area is characterised by mild climates, maritime breezes and soils that favour both international varieties and local indigenous varieties.
Awards and recognitions
Numerous national and international awards. Among the recent recognitions announced by the winery: a Gold Medal for the Chardonnay and a Silver Medal for the Sauvignon, as well as mentions and positive scores in guides and from specialist critics.
