In this meticulous proposal, we present the Pinot Nero IGP from the renowned Vulcan 800 - Terra dei Re winery, which has captured the essence of one of the most intriguing terroirs. Located in a volcanic region, this winery benefits from rich and unique soil, which imparts distinctive characteristics to the wine, highly appreciated by the most refined palates.

Vulcan 800's Pinot Nero is famous for its delicate ruby color and crystal-clear transparency, which foretell a complex olfactory bouquet. On the nose, elegant notes of ripe red fruits, such as cherry and strawberry, are expertly integrated with hints of rose and violet. The aging in wood adds delicate touches of sweet spices, vanilla, and a slight hint of toast.

On the palate, the olfactory elegance is confirmed with a velvety entrance that evolves into a balanced and harmonious structure. The acidity is well-balanced and supports a fine but persistent tannic texture, leading to a long and pleasantly savory finish.

This wine is an excellent match for dishes rich in delicate flavors, such as roasted white meats, mushroom-based dishes, and medium-aged cheeses. Moreover, its elegant profile makes it perfect as a meditation wine, to be sipped slowly to appreciate every nuance.

Serve the Vulcan 800 Pinot Nero IGP at a temperature of 16-18°C to enhance all its characteristics. A true gem for those seeking a sophisticated wine experience deeply connected to its region of origin.

Region: Basilicata
Country: Italia
Founded: 2000

Specializing in Aglianico del Vulture and experimenting with Pinot Noir at high altitudes. Strong commitment to sustainability: Friend of the Earth certification and measures to reduce emissions and consumption. Collaboration with oenologist Riccardo Cotarella for oenological development. Offers tours and tasting experiences and an online shop featuring its own labels. Featured labels: Nocte, Divinus, Vulcano 800, Calata delle Brecce.
Winery history
The project began in the early 21st century at the initiative of the Rabasco and Leone families; the first harvests and winemaking date back to the early 2000s. Over the years the estate has developed vineyards in the prime contrade of Monte Vulture and introduced labels such as Divinus, Nocte and Vulcano 800. Since 2018/2019 it has collaborated with winemaker Riccardo Cotarella.
Production philosophy
Production oriented toward respect for the territory and sustainability: precision agriculture practices, emissions reduction, use of photovoltaic systems and rainwater harvesting, with the aim of minimizing the environmental impact of the bottles. The company also states that it was among the first in the wine sector to obtain the Friend of the Earth certification.
Terroir and vineyards
Operations take place on the slopes of Monte Vulture: volcanic soils, a strong diurnal temperature range and varying altitudes that favour the expression of Aglianico, Pinot Nero and white varieties. The winery is part of the DOC Aglianico del Vulture.
Awards and recognitions
The winery and its wines have received numerous national and international recognitions: examples include high scores and mentions in specialized guides, repeated "Tre Bicchieri" awards for the Aglianico "Nocte", as well as prizes for sparkling wines and other labels.
