Rum Ryoma was born in Shikoku, an island located south of the Japanese archipelago.
It is produced thanks to the oldest sugar cane plantation in the country, through its juice extracted by crushing. After distillation, the Rum Ryoma remains to age in oak barrels for 7 years, where the contact with the wood will give it its light golden hue.
The taste is definitely surprising given that it has little resemblance to traditional rum, its flavor in fact recalls that of brandy or sake with hints of vanilla and a caramelized citrus blend.
