The Barolo Sarmassa by Roberto Voerzio is born in the historic hills of La Morra, the beating heart of the Barolo denomination. This cru, an authentic expression of Nebbiolo cultivated on a unique terroir, offers a complex and refined sensory experience. The grapes, carefully selected, ferment slowly to enhance the intense aromas of withered rose, ripe cherry, and sweet spices, while aging in large wooden barrels gives a captivating structure and impeccable balance.

The sip stands out for its vibrant freshness and firm yet silky tannins, making this Barolo Sarmassa a wine of great longevity and depth. Perfect paired with traditional Piedmontese dishes such as braised beef in Barolo or aged cheeses, it splendidly accompanies moments of meditative tasting and conviviality. Founded in La Morra in 1986; family-run. Strong focus on the vineyard: highly selective summer thinning and avoidance of chemical fertilizers. Production focused on Barolo crus. Winemaking style aimed at achieving the fullest expression of Nebbiolo, with gentle extractions and the combined use of large casks and barriques. The winery is not open to visits or tastings.
Winery history
The winery was founded in La Morra in 1986 and has developed as a family-run business. Over the years it has focused production on the most prestigious crus of the Langhe, earning international recognition for its Barolo and other Nebbiolo-based wines.
Production philosophy
Intensive vineyard work, respect for the terroir and very low yields are at the heart of production. In the vineyard, chemical fertilizers are avoided and selective thinning is practiced; in the cellar, winemaking seeks to preserve the purity of the fruit through gentle extraction and a measured use of casks.
