This wine reflects Badia a Coltibuono's dedication to crafting Chianti Classicos that not only respect the tradition and identity of this renowned wine-growing territory, but at the same time embody a modern and sustainable vision of viticulture.

"R.S." stands for "Roberto Stucchi", one of the members of the family who managed Badia a Coltibuono for a long time and who brought significant innovations in the wine production process, always maintaining a deep respect for the environment and for the authentic character of Chianti Classico wines . With an approach that balances tradition and innovation, the Chianti Classico DOCG R.S. it aims to be accessible and pleasantly drinkable, while offering noteworthy complexity and structure.

Produced mainly with Sangiovese grapes, the vine par excellence of the Chianti Classico region, this wine can also include small percentages of other local varieties, in compliance with the production specifications of the Chianti Classico DOCG. The grapes are harvested from vineyards located in optimal positions, where the microclimate and soil offer ideal conditions for Sangiovese.

After the harvest, the grapes undergo a careful winemaking process, followed by a period of refinement which can vary depending on the vintage, partly in oak barrels to enrich the wine with complexity, while maintaining the freshness and liveliness of the fruit.

Visually, the Chianti Classico DOCG R.S. It has a brilliant ruby ​​red color. On the nose, it expresses a rich aromatic bouquet, with notes of fresh red fruit, light spices and floral hints, which reflect the purity of Sangiovese and the character of the Chianti terroir. In the mouth, the wine is balanced and harmonious, with a good tannic structure, lively acidity and a persistent and clean finish.

Winery history
The estate is the former Abbey of San Lorenzo a Coltibuono, whose documented origins date back to the 11th century. Over the centuries the property has maintained its connection to local viticulture; in the twentieth century family management helped consolidate the production of wine and olive oil and opened the Abbey to hospitality and the promotion of Tuscan cuisine.
Production philosophy
It practices organic farming with attention to biodiversity, the soil and workers' health. The wine is conceived as the fruit of vineyard work. In the winery, techniques that respect the integrity of the grapes are favored, such as fermentation with indigenous yeasts and the use of gravity-flow winemaking principles.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are concentrated in the Monti in Chianti area on clay-limestone soils. The vineyards mentioned in the product sheets include crus and parcels such as Montebello, Poggino, Vignone and Argenina; the estate overlooks the Arno valley and includes estate-owned olive groves and woodlands.
