Il Guardiavigna IGT Toscana from Podere Forte represents an eloquent example of the oenological excellence that Tuscany can offer, especially in the Orcia area. This wine stands out for its sophisticated composition and the meticulous attention to detail that the winery dedicates to every stage of production.

Made predominantly with Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes, with a small contribution from other local varieties, Guardiavigna is the result of a carefully selected harvest. These grapes mature on the Tuscan hills, where the rich and varied soil imparts remarkable complexity and robust structure to the wine. The altitude and unique microclimate of the area allow the grapes to develop an ideal balance between phenolic ripeness and fresh acidity.

In the winery, the wine is vinified with an approach that prioritizes the pure expression of the terroir. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by maturation in French oak barriques for about 18 months. This aging process gives Guardiavigna an elegant and well-integrated tannic structure, along with aromatic nuances of vanilla and sweet spices that blend beautifully with notes of ripe red fruits and chocolate.

On tasting, Guardiavigna IGT Toscana reveals a fully harmonious palate, with a perfect balance between power and finesse. The fruity and spicy notes integrate splendidly with a fresh acidity and silky tannins, leading to a persistent and gratifying finish.

This wine is ideal for accompanying rich dishes such as roasted red meat, game, or aged cheeses. Its complexity and elegance also make it perfect as a meditation wine. A true gem for lovers of high-end Tuscan wines.

Winery history
Podere Forte was founded as an agricultural project led by Pasquale Forte and developed around the idea of a self-sufficient estate. The estate, operating since 1997, has re-created an integrated farm in the Val d’Orcia where viticulture, olive growing, beekeeping and livestock farming coexist, following organic and biodynamic practices.
Production philosophy
The estate is managed according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture, with attention to soil health, production autonomy and the enhancement of local resources. The approach combines traditional techniques with precision tools in a system called "Sistema Forte," aimed at environmental and social sustainability.
Terroir and vineyards
The estate is located in the Val d’Orcia, a landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the vineyards are planted on soils rich in schist and clay at varying elevations, which favor typical expressions of Sangiovese and Bordeaux-style blends. The estate also has extensive olive groves and large areas of agricultural land.
Awards and recognitions
Some Podere Forte wines have received recognition in international guides and competitions across different vintages.
