Tabbord by Piera Martellozzo is a distinctive red wine that celebrates the elegance and richness of grapes grown in the Friuli region. This DOC (Controlled Designation of Origin) wine reflects the skill and tradition of a respected winery, ensuring superior quality and a strong territorial identity.

The selected grapes for Tabbord come from vineyards located in the clay and limestone soils of Friuli, famous for contributing to wines with great structure and intensity. The winemaking process follows methods that respect both modernity and heritage, with particular attention to varietal expression and aging potential.

From an organoleptic perspective, Tabbord presents a deep ruby red color, promising a complex olfactory experience. On the nose, it stands out for its intense aromas of ripe red fruits, like cherries and plums, with a subtle aftertaste of vanilla and sweet spices due to aging in barrels.

On the palate, the wine is robust and well-structured; the balance between acidity and tannins is impeccable, leading to a persistent and pleasantly harmonious finish. These characteristics make Tabbord ideal for accompanying rich meat dishes, such as braises and stews, but also aged cheeses and intense pasta dishes.

Aging in the bottle allows this wine to develop further nuances, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a red wine that can evolve and improve over time. Perfect for a special evening or as a gift for wine enthusiasts, Tabbord represents an excellent example of Friulian viticulture.

Winery history
The company’s history dates back to the late 19th century, with the first generation of the Martellozzo family active in 1899 in the province of Padua. In the 1990s Piera, of the third generation, took the helm of the business, began re-evaluating indigenous grape varieties and launched its first organic line. In the early 2000s the headquarters were consolidated in San Quirino, in the Friuli Grave area, serving as the starting point for expansion into national and international markets.
Production philosophy
The estate combines respect for the land with an innovative approach: careful selection of well‑suited vineyard parcels, the production of wines that reflect the local territory, and a focus on sustainable practices through measures such as photovoltaic systems, lightweight packaging, water reuse and careful selection of label materials.
Terroir and vineyards
Primarily operating in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with ties to the Triveneto region; the wines are an expression of gravelly soils and a microclimate tempered by the Adriatic and sheltered by the mountains to the north.
