Refined and charismatic, the Barbera d'Asti DOCG "Bosco Donne" by Gianni Doglia is a brilliant example of Italian winemaking mastery in the Piedmont region. Made from carefully selected Barbera grapes, this wine perfectly encapsulates the unique terroir of this area, renowned for the exceptional quality of its red wines.

Visually, it presents an intense and vibrant ruby red color. On the nose, the bouquet is rich in fruity aromas, with prevalent notes of cherries and ripe plums, which blend harmoniously with hints of vanilla and sweet spices, a result of careful aging in barriques. On the palate, the "Bosco Donne" shows a full body and a robust structure, yet balanced by fresh acidity. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, making the sip pleasantly velvety.

The taste persistence is remarkable, leaving a long and pleasantly fruity aftertaste. This wine is ideal to be served at a temperature of 16-18°C and pairs beautifully with Piedmontese dishes such as agnolotti al plin or braised in red wine. It is also impeccable with medium-aged cheeses.

The Barbera d'Asti "Bosco Donne" is a wine that grows and evolves over time, thus it can be drunk immediately or left to age in the cellar for a few years. Undoubtedly, a classy choice for any collector or wine lover who wishes to savor the true essence of Piedmont through the glass.

Winery history
The family story begins with Eugenio Rivella, who in 1947 purchased land in the Annunziata hamlet of Castagnole delle Lanze to produce wine from his own grapes. Over the years management passed to the next generation and, from the late 1990s/early 2000s, to their son Gianni, an oenologist trained in enology and viticulture who has led the estate through its growth. From 2000 Gianni took direct charge of the estate, and in 2001 he vinified Moscato d'Asti from the family vineyards for the first time. In 2013 his sister Paola joined the business full-time. In 2022 Gianni was selected by Gambero Rosso as Winemaker of the Year.
