The Barolo DOCG "Brunate" by Mario Marengo represents one of the most refined and expressive interpretations of the Nebbiolo grape, grown in one of the most famous and esteemed Barolo crus, Brunate. This area, located between the municipalities of La Morra and Barolo, is renowned for its calcareous-marly soils which give the wines an extraordinary complexity and aging capacity. The Mario Marengo winery, faithful to a production philosophy that favors the quality and expression of the territory, produces a "Brunate" Barolo which is synonymous with elegance and power.
Visually, Mario Marengo's Barolo "Brunate" has an intense garnet red color, with reflections that tend towards orange as it matures. On the nose, it stands out for a complex and enveloping bouquet, with notes of ripe red fruit, such as cherries and plums, together with nuances of violet, dried rose, tobacco, spices and a light hint of leather, typical of the aging of Nebbiolo in barriques.
In the mouth, the wine expresses an extraordinary structure, with fine but firm tannins that integrate perfectly with a balanced acidity, guaranteeing a long tasting persistence. The aromatic richness perceived on the nose is also found on the palate, with an elegant balance between the fruity and more evolved notes, which conclude in a long and memorable finish.
Ideal in combination with dishes of great flavor intensity, such as roasted red meats, game, truffle-based dishes and mature cheeses, Barolo "Brunate" by Mario Marengo is also a meditation wine, which gives unique emotions to those who taste it with attention, gradually revealing its complexity and depth.
