The Roccamonfina PGI "Cecurbo" by Villa Matilde Avallone is a red wine that embodies the richness and uniqueness of the terroir of Roccamonfina, a geographical area particularly suited to viticulture located in the Campania region, in southern Italy. Villa Matilde Avallone, a winery that is passionately dedicated to the rediscovery and valorization of the ancient vines of Campania, produces "Cecurbo" as a tribute to the winemaking tradition of the area, using native grapes to create a wine of character and depth.

Roccamonfina PGI "Cecurbo" is mainly obtained from Aglianico grapes, with the addition of other local varieties which contribute to creating a complex and layered aromatic profile. The Aglianico grapes, known for its tannic structure and its aging capacity, find ideal conditions in the volcanic area of Roccamonfina to best express their varietal characteristics, thanks to the soils rich in minerals and the favorable microclimate.

Winemaking follows practices that aim to preserve the integrity of the fruit and enhance its organoleptic qualities. After manual harvesting, the grapes undergo fermentation at a controlled temperature, followed by a period of maceration which allows for optimal extraction of colours, aromas and tannins. The wine then matures in oak barriques, where it acquires complexity, harmony and subtle woody notes, which integrate perfectly with the vigorous character of Aglianico.

Visually, "Cecurbo" has an intense and deep ruby red color, with garnet reflections that anticipate its aromatic richness. On the nose, the wine offers an enveloping bouquet, with dominant notes of ripe red and black fruits, such as black cherries, plums and blackberries, enriched by nuances of spices, chocolate and a light balsamic touch, evidence of the aging in wood.

In the mouth, the Roccamonfina PGI "Cecurbo" by Villa Matilde Avallone reveals an extraordinary intensity and complexity, with a robust but elegant tannic structure and a well-balanced acidity that supports its freshness. The flavors of ripe fruit blend with notes of sweet spices, tobacco and vanilla, leading to a long and persistent finish, which leaves a pleasant sensation of warmth and depth.

Ideal in combination with robust dishes of Campania and Mediterranean cuisine, such as red meats, game and mature cheeses, "Cecurbo" is also a meditation wine, which invites you to discover the nuances and expressive potential of the native Campania vines, representing a authentic expression of the viticultural richness of this land.
