The Beaune Premier Cru "Clos de l'Écu" by Domaines Faiveley is a red wine from Burgundy that embodies the finesse and complexity for which the region is famous. This Premier Cru, part of the wide range of wines produced by one of Burgundy's most respected wineries, Domaines Faiveley, comes from a historic vineyard: the "Clos de l'Écu". This vineyard is one of Faiveley's monopolies, meaning the winery owns the entire vineyard, allowing total control over quality and viticultural practices.

The "Clos de l'Écu" is located in the city of Beaune, the heart of the Côte de Beaune wine region, and represents one of the Faiveley family's first acquisitions in the area. The term "Écu" refers to the ancient shields of the knights, highlighting the historical connection and prestige of the vineyard. With an ideal exposure and soil for growing Pinot Noir, this vineyard produces wines characterized by extraordinary elegance, structure and aging potential.

The winemaking follows traditional Burgundian methods, with delicate fermentation and aging in French oak barriques, partly new and partly used, for a period that can vary but is generally around 12-18 months. This process aims to enhance the natural qualities of Pinot Noir, integrating complexity and aromatic nuances without overpowering the expression of the fruit.

Visually, the Beaune Premier Cru "Clos de l'Écu" presents itself with a brilliant ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a complex and seductive aromatic range, with notes of ripe red fruits, flowers, subtle spices and a touch of earthy minerality that reflects the uniqueness of its terroir. In the mouth, the wine reveals a silky texture and a balanced tannic structure, accompanied by a lively acidity that gives freshness and leads towards a long and aromatic finish.

Ideal in combination with refined meat dishes, game, mushrooms and mature cheeses, the Beaune Premier Cru "Clos de l'Écu" by Domaines Faiveley is an example of how careful vineyard care and winemaking mastery can converge in a wine of exceptional beauty and depth, representing one of the highest expressions of Pinot Noir in Burgundy.
