Winery history Carranco (Palmento Carranco)

The Carranco project was born from the desire to unite Borgogno's historic expertise and Tornatore's Etna roots. The estate's website notes that the initiative began in 2018. The property also preserves an ancient underground palmento dating back to the 18th century, which has undergone conservation and restoration work.

Production philosophy

The winery declares an approach that combines respect for the territory with local tradition: cultivation of indigenous grape varieties, careful attention to the timing dictated by the volcano, and winemaking rooted in Etna's historical practices. Publicly stated values include attentiveness, gratitude and character.

Terroir and vineyards

The vineyards are located on the north side of Mount Etna, around Contrada Carranco at about 500 m above sea level. The soils are volcanic in origin and the vines are also trained as bush vines on terraced slopes.
