Winery Morgante

The Morgante family, rooted in the Grotte area, focused its viticultural activities from the 1990s; over time it has transformed scattered vineyard plots into a structured production project, with direct vinification of its own grapes and the support of international oenological consultants. The vineyards are distributed within a radius of about 30 km around Grotte, and the winery has experienced steady growth oriented toward quality and the internationalization of its wines.

Strong focus on the native Nero d'Avola grape as a means of expressing the terroir; careful attention to quality from vineyard to bottle; and a production approach that combines local tradition with targeted oenological interventions to enhance the character of individual crus.

The vineyards are located around the municipality of Grotte, at elevations of approximately 350–550 metres above sea level. The soils are calcareous, clayey and marly, and the pronounced temperature variations typical of the area positively influence the ripening of Nero d'Avola.

The wines regularly receive mentions and scores from international guides and critics; the winery is often cited in specialist reviews.
