Massolino's Barbaresco DOCG is a wine that represents excellence and the profound connection between the Nebbiolo grape and its terroir of origin, Piedmont, in particular the Barbaresco area, renowned for its structured and long-lived red wines . The Massolino winery, located in the heart of the Langhe, is known for its winemaking tradition which is handed down from generation to generation, with a constant commitment to the quality and purest expression of Nebbiolo.

This Barbaresco stands out for its typical garnet red color, which tends to acquire orange shades as it ages in the bottle. On the nose, the wine expresses a rich bouquet of aromas, where notes of red fruits stand out, such as cherry and raspberry, enriched by floral nuances of rose and violet, followed by elegant touches of spices, tobacco and leather, testimony to the refinement in wood that contributes complexity and depth.

In the mouth, Massolino's Barbaresco reveals a solid structure, supported by ripe and well-integrated tannins that give a pleasant velvety sensation. The acidity is well balanced, guaranteeing freshness and drinkability, and leads to a long and persistent finish, with an aftertaste in which the fruity and spicy notes perceived on the nose return.

Ideal in combination with rich and structured dishes, such as red meats, game, dishes based on mushrooms and truffles, and mature cheeses, this Barbaresco is also an excellent meditation wine, capable of evolving and revealing new aromatic nuances with aging.

Winery history
The Massolino family has been active in Serralunga d'Alba since 1896, a date established from archival records. Over time the estate has promoted historic vineyards in Serralunga and in recent years has also launched projects in the Barbaresco area, expanding its presence in the Langhe.
Production philosophy
The production approach aims to highlight the voice of the terroir and the grape rather than cellar interventions: careful vineyard management, winemaking that respects the raw material, and the goal of producing precise, expressive wines capable of conveying the distinct character of each cru, with particular attention to Nebbiolo.
Terroir and vineyards
The winery is located in Serralunga d'Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. The wines come from vineyards on hills well suited to Nebbiolo; the estate offers "classic" wines produced by blending multiple vineyards and crus that highlight differences in soil, exposure and vine age.
