Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore del Castello di Neive is a wine that represents a high level of quality and complexity within the range of wines produced with the Barbera grape in Piedmont. This particular "Superiore" label indicates a wine that has undergone longer aging and has a richer structure than the standard version, a result of the specific production rules that govern the "Superiore" denomination in the region.

Castello di Neive, located in the idyllic hills of Alba, is known for its dedication to producing wines that faithfully reflect terroir and varietal identity. For Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore, the winery selects Barbera grapes from the best vineyards, where careful and sustainable agricultural practices contribute to the quality of the harvest.

The winemaking is carefully managed to enhance the natural qualities of the Barbera grape, characterized by lively acidity and intense aromas of red fruits. The "Superiore" wine requires a longer period of aging, usually in oak barriques, which not only helps to smooth the acidity and round the palate, but also adds aromatic and structural complexity to the wine, with notes of spice, vanilla and a light toasted touch.

Visually, Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore shows an intense ruby red color, with purple reflections which testify to the youth and vitality of the wine. On the nose, explosive notes of ripe red fruit stand out, such as cherries and plums, enriched by a delicate spiciness and vanilla accents, the result of aging in wood.

In the mouth, the wine is rich and full, with a perfect balance between the typical Barbera acidity and soft tannins, resulting in a harmonious and satisfying sip. The aromatic persistence is remarkable, with a long finish that leaves room for hints of fruit and spices.

Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore from Castello di Neive is particularly suitable for accompanying robust and savory dishes, such as roasts, braised meats, truffle-based dishes and mature cheeses, offering a rich tasting experience deeply linked to the production area.
