Originating from the Gascony region, in the heart of the historic Armagnac production area, the Vieille Relique by Samalens is distilled using a continuous copper still, specifically the Armagnacais system. After distillation, the liquid is left to mature in French oak barrels, where it acquires its rich aromatic palette and characteristic amber color.
On the nose, the Bas Armagnac Vieille Relique reveals intense notes of candied fruit, vanilla, and spices, with hints of leather and tobacco that develop with oxygenation. On the palate, the body is robust and velvety, dominated by flavors of plum, chocolate, and an elegant hint of toasted oak. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasing complexity that invites a second sip.
This Armagnac is particularly appreciated by connoisseurs for its depth and maturity. It is recommended to be served at room temperature, preferably in a tulip glass to enhance all its aromas. It is ideal as a digestif at the end of a refined dinner or to celebrate special moments.
The Bas Armagnac Vieille Relique 15 Years 70cl by Samalens is not just a distillate, but a true sensory experience that expresses the art of French distillation at its peak. Elegant and exclusive, it is a magnificent gift for every spirit enthusiast or a splendid addition to a connoisseur’s collection.
