The Bonarda DOC "La Brughera" from Giorgi winery is an excellent example of how the Croatina grape can express itself masterfully in the Oltrepò Pavese region. This wine is the result of a careful selection of the best grapes, grown on clay soils which give the wine a robust structure and a unique profile.

Visually, "La Brughera" presents itself with an intense ruby red color, enhanced by violet reflections that testify to its freshness and youth. The visual appeal is just the beginning, as the real sensory journey occurs on the nose and palate. The aromatic bouquet is dominated by fruity notes of plum and blackberry, with light hints of cherry in spirits, typical of the Croatina grape. These are complemented by spicy hints of vanilla and black pepper, resulting from expert aging in wooden barrels.

On the palate, Bonarda DOC "La Brughera" reveals itself to be pleasantly complex: its balanced acidity perfectly complements a non-overpowering tannicity. The wine offers a medium-full palate, with a persistent finish that returns to the fruity and spicy tones perceived on the nose.

Ideal for pairing with dishes from traditional cuisine, such as mushroom risottos or game, "La Brughera" is also perfect with aged cheeses. It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 16-18°C to fully appreciate its qualities.

Giorgi winery, with its long experience and dedication to the Oltrepò Pavese territory, has managed to create a wine with Bonarda DOC "La Brughera" that expresses the richness and liveliness of the Italian winemaking tradition.

Winery history
The estate is led by the Bricolo family: parents Alberta and Roberto started the business, and it is now managed by their daughter Roberta. According to the winery, it was founded by the parents in 1975; in 2014 the current owners began the conversion to organic viticulture, which resulted in vineyard certification. Over the years the facilities have been expanded with architectural additions focused on hospitality and wine tourism.
Production philosophy
The company's philosophy centers on organic viticulture and sustainability: the organic approach is regarded as an indispensable choice to safeguard health and the land and to enhance the relationship between soil, vine and climate, with winemaking planned already in the vineyard.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located on the moraine hills around the village of Custoza, in the municipality of Sommacampagna, on glacially derived soils rich in pebbles and calcium carbonate, which impart minerality and salinity to the wines, typical of the Lake Garda area.

Among the recognitions reported by the press and industry platforms are: Tre Bicchieri for the Custoza 'San Michelin'; international awards such as a Silver Medal and mentions in Decanter for the Custoza Superiore 'Summa'; and Mundus Vini medals for wines such as Ca' Nova.
