Maculan's Cabernet IGT is a representative example of the Venetian winery's ability to interpret international vines with a distinctive touch that reflects the terroir of Breganze, a wine-growing area of Veneto famous for its variety of microclimates and soils, ideal for quality viticulture . The Maculan family, with a long history of winemaking that has been passed down for three generations, is renowned for producing wines that combine tradition and innovation, achieving international recognition.

Maculan's Cabernet IGT is mainly produced from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, two vines that find an ideal habitat in this part of the Veneto to fully express their varietal character. The choice of these vines reflects Maculan's intention to produce structured and aromatic red wines, capable of evolving well over time.

The winemaking follows Maculan's philosophy of enhancing the quality of the grape and the specificity of the terroir. The wine is aged in oak barriques for a period that can vary depending on the vintage, with the aim of integrating the tannins and enriching the aromatic profile of the wine without overpowering the fruit.

At sight, the Cabernet IGT Maculan presents itself with an intense ruby red color, which invites tasting. On the nose, the wine offers a complex and inviting bouquet, with notes of ripe red and black fruits, spices, a touch of aromatic herbs and a light oak grain that adds depth without dominating the aromatic profile.

In the mouth, the wine demonstrates a solid structure supported by ripe tannins and a well-balanced acidity that gives freshness and dynamism to the sip. Ripe fruit flavors blend with notes of chocolate, coffee and vanilla, leading to a long, lingering finish.

Ideal in combination with red meat dishes, game, mushroom-based dishes and mature cheeses, Maculan's Cabernet IGT is a wine that expresses the richness and complexity that Cabernet can achieve in the Veneto, making it an excellent choice for passionate about structured and aromatic red wines.

Winery history
The winery originated from the Maculan family's winemaking activities in Breganze. The current estate was developed from the business founded by grandfather Giovanni Maculan in 1947. In the 1970s Fausto Maculan led a qualitative transformation of the estate, elevating local wines such as Torcolato and expanding the portfolio with modern expressions of red and white wines. Today management also involves his daughters, continuing a path that combines local tradition with winemaking innovation.
Production philosophy
The winemaking approach combines respect for the territory with experimentation: meticulous care in the vineyard and the cellar, revival of local traditions and attention to modern techniques. The estate emphasizes the identity of Breganze grapes while also using international varieties for a wide range of wine styles.
Terroir and vineyards
The vineyards are located in the DOC Breganze area, on the hills at the foot of the Altopiano di Asiago. The area is characterized by microclimates favorable to ripening and by hillside aspects that influence production, particularly of passito wines made from Vespaiola.
