Sadi Malot – Winery in Montagne de Reims (Champagne)

Discover the story and wines of Sadi Malot.

Family-owned Champagne house based in Villers-Marmery (Montagne de Reims), known for Blanc de Blancs, low-dosage cuvées and natural/zero-liqueur productions.
Region: Montagne de Reims (Champagne)
Country: France
Founded: 1883
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir
Based in Villers-Marmery, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Varietal composition focused on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; production of Blanc de Blancs and cuvée Brut Nature. Commitment to sustainable practices: references to Haute Valeur Environnementale and an ongoing transition to biodynamic practices reported by multiple sources. Use of solera reserves for the base wines and extended lees aging for some cuvées. Independent, family-owned producer with international commercial references.
Winery history
The house traces its origins to the Malot family: the first generation is associated with Socrate Malot, and the brand is dedicated to a family member named Sadi. Production has remained in the family's hands for several generations, and today the house continues to enhance the vineyards of Villers-Marmery and the parcels in Verzy/Verzenay, with historical references dating back to the beginnings of the family's activity.
Production philosophy
The approach aims to express the terroir through sincere, precise Champagnes: vineyard work focused on sustainability and winemaking that combines steel, wood and concrete to achieve finesse and expressiveness. Perpetual reserves and long aging on the lees are used for the house cuvées.
Terroir and vineyards
Main premises in Villers-Marmery. The estate also owns vineyards in neighboring communes, including parcels in Grand Cru sites such as Verzy. The soils of Villers-Marmery are characterized by a strong limestone component, which influences the style of the blanc de blancs cuvées.
Awards and recognitions
Silver Medal 2016 — Brut Blanc de Blancs Vieilles Vignes "Coup de Foudre" 1er Cru; Silver Medal 2019 — Brut Nature "Zéro liqueur".
